The AAS stands for the African Academy of Sciences, an autonomous Africa-wide professional, non-political and non-profit making organisation. AAS acts primarily as an honourific institution to African scientists and technology achievers and, secondly, as a development oriented mobiliser of the entire African science and technology community. The AAS has also invested significant amount of resources in facilitating the development of scientific and technological capacity for science-led development in Africa, and promoting excellence and relevance in doing so. |
