The Third World Organisation for Women in Science (TWOWS), an international autonomous organisation based in Trieste, Italy, offers fellowships to women scientists from sub-Saharan Africa and Least Developed Countries (LDCs) to pursue postgraduate research leading to a PhD at centres of excellence in the South.

Fellowships are awarded in one of the following fields of basic sciences:

• Biology
• Chemistry
• Mathematics
• Physics

Applications are accepted until 31 July 2008.
